We are facing a future where too soon the
only butterflies or birds we’ll see will be
captured in pictures or in specimen boxes.
Habitat restoration is critical for wildlife
where development has infringed on their
natural areas.
The Alki Community Council has formed the
Alki Wildlife Habitat Project to promote
neighborhood involvement in restoring the
natural legacy of our community as we work
to qualify the Alki community as a
“Community Wildlife Habitat” under the
guidelines of the National Wildlife Federation.
The Project will include single-family homes,
condominiums, apartment buildings, a
schoolyard program, business participation
and several demonstration gardens.
